Who eats like a cave man? WE DO! Well, sort of. I've taken up what is referred to as the "paleo diet", in an attempt to resolve a serious case of wheat belly. Guess what...it works! On paleo, not only do I feel awesome, but the bloat goes away! I had no idea how much bloating I was experiencing until I started following this way of eating. I don't do it as a "weight-loss" diet, but just as a better and more natural way of eating. I also fudge just a tiny bit on things. A lot of paleo followers avoid alcohol at all costs. I ditch the beer and go for wine. A lot of paleo peeps are anti-dairy, and I still eat a little good quality cheese now and then.
As a new weekly feature, I'm going to start sharing my meal plans. So here's what we're cooking up this week.
Saturday: Pioneer Woman's braised short ribs, leave out the dredging in flour. Asparagus, and mashed cauliflower
Sunday: Lemon and Artichoke (Practical Paleo), with the best broccoli ever
Monday: Pork Roast with Squishy Squashy Apples ( Eat Like a Dinosaur) Roasted Brussels sprouts.
Tuesday: Buffalo Chicken Lettuce Wraps (Practical Paleo)
Wednesday: Italian Stuffed Peppers (Practical Paleo)
Thursday: The best ever roast chicken recipe, sub out potatoes for parsnips and turnips. Sub out soy sauce for coconut aminos.
Friday: Italian Hotplate: Ground Beef, zucchini, tomatoes, olives and Italian seasoning on a bed of spaghetti squash. (Well Fed)
