Swiffer Cover Pattern
You'll need:
Worsted weight cotton yarn (I used less than one ball of Lily Peaches and Cream.)
H hook
Yarn needle.
Abbreviations:
HDC: Half double crochet
SC: single crochet
Ch: Chain
Make a chain that measures 15 inches long. For me this was 57 stitches, but it will vary based on your gauge.
Row 1: Hdc in second chain from hook. Hdc in each remaining stitch. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2-14: Hdc in each st across. Ch1, turn. Repeat this row, until you piece is 4 1/2 inches tall.
When it measures 15 inches by 4 1/2 inches, you are done repeating rows.
Fold over each end by 2 1/2 inches.
Happy cleaning, and Happy Earth Day!!!

Thank you! Love this! My fiance has been bugging me to find a homemade variety for our swiffer. I know my project for tonight ;-)
ReplyDeletesweet am making this now that i found a pattern was going to throw y swifter away but now i don't have to yeah
ReplyDeleteI've just made one myself. Thanks for the simple and easy pattern.
ReplyDeleteIs this a dry swiffer or wet swiffer? Could I use it for both :) thanks so much for the tutorial!
ReplyDeleteso cool
ReplyDeleteThank you. I don't use a swiffer ,but I'd love to share this idea. The swiffer bottles are reusable too. You dip them in HOT water for ten seconds twist off lid, then clip off the locking tabs with nail clippers. Voila!
ReplyDeleteI found this pattern to be too small...I ended up with a baby Swiffer cover lol! I did use acrylic yarn so not sure if that was the reason. I also tend to be a tighter crocheter but my cover was about 5 inches too short.
