TummyTub Review and Sea Silk Sponge Giveaway

This is one review I've been absolutely dying to post. I truly believe that this product could make any mom's life easier and happier, especially moms of multiples.

If your baby is anything like either of mine, bath time is a chore. The moment that little bottom hits the water, it becomes a fuss fest. I always hurry to wash them as fast as I can as they squirm, shiver, and cry. After the first twin is bathed, I say to myself, "Lucky me, I get to repeat this now", and in goes baby number two. Thinking about it, how would you like to take a bath where you are half out of the water? That's the way that most baby baths position our little ones.

Yes babies around the world, I have heard your complaints and I am so glad to tell you that there is hope. Imagine a bath time where you are comfortably cradled as in your mothers soothing womb. Imagine your bath staying warm for a full twenty minutes. Too good to be true, you say. Well allow me introduce you to the Tummy Tub!

As soon as it arrived I opened it up, rinsed it out, and filled it up right away. I was a bit suprised at how unlike our other tub, it was easy to carry while filled with water. It uses an average of 1.3 gallons of water, which is far less than most baby bath tubs. (The green mama goddess in you can feel good about that.) The babies were both a bit fussy. We still occasionally struggle with reflux, as many preemies do, and this was a particularly bad day. I undressed baby A and gently lowered him into the tub. I was thrilled that not only was he instantly not fussy, but he was cooing and smiling. He enjoyed every second of it, as did his brother.

This was the first bath for them that was pleasant for everyone involved. Suddenly, bathing has become a bonding experience for us! I couldn't be more thrilled. There are so many more benefits to the Tummy Tub, and if I listed them all, this would be one long post. So go here and read about it more. You can purchase a Tummy Tub at any one of their retailers listed here. They retail for around $45 and are worth every penny. You can also pick up a stand for it that doubles as a step stool.

Check out this video I took of bathing baby A:

Along with my fabulous tub, I was sent a Natural Silk Sea Sponge.
It is wonderfully soft when wet and I love knowing that it is completely natural as I touch it to my baby's skin. Their sponges are sustainably harvested off of Florida's gulf coast and have naturally anti-microbial properties. I excited to be able to offer you a giveaway from Tummy Tub for one of their Natural Sea Silk Sponges.

  1. There are many other uses for the bath when not in use like a foot stool or storage device

  4. What a simple and wonderful idea--a baby bath tub that mimics the mother's womb and naturally puts the baby in the fetal position.

  6. I love that, although plastic, the Tummy Tub doesn't contain any BPA or phthalates!

  7. I love that it uses less water, but another benefit would be that due to the shape, it will keep the water (and baby!) warmer longer!

  8. Ohhh! Love the idea of this product. The way baby sits and momma is positioned while bathing baby looks ideal. I think this might take care of most of my lower back problems when kneeling over the tub!

  16. just added. 19 wks preg. Just stumbled on the tummytub online. I can't wait. It does seem a little awkward with holding the head up in the first few months but I am very excited otherwise. :) Thanks for the review. Hope to read more reviews from you.
